Quickly recognize whether a move hits hard.
Quickly recognize whether a move hits hard. Type Resistances asks whether a defending type line resists a move type (e.g. DOES FIRE RESIST WATER?), with a Pokémon sprite for context. You answer YES or NO only (no multiplier labels on the buttons); feedback after each try explains the full chart multiplier. Chart only—no abilities, items, Mega Evolutions, or weather.

Repetition
This mode will teach you:
- how to learn Pokemon type resistances
- pokemon dual typing weakness calculator practice
- how to calculate damage in Pokemon VGC
- what resists Fairy, Steel, and Ghost in Pokemon
- how to memorize Pokemon type effectiveness
- how to learn VGC damage math
What This Mode Trains
- YES means the chart total is under 1× for that move type into those defender types; NO means 1× or more.
- Connect common VGC moves to their types without a second thought.
- Repeat the same prompt after a miss until the read is automatic.
Why It Matters in VGC
- The full type chart is huge; short drills make multipliers easier to recall.
- Many game-losing clicks come from slightly wrong damage expectations.
- Binary taps keep the loop fast; detailed numbers stay in feedback.
Example
The prompt reads DOES FIRE/FLYING RESIST ROCK? You judge YES if Rock is less than fully effective on that type line. Feedback shows the exact ½×, ¼×, 0×, etc.
Common Questions
Does YES include 0× (immunity)?
Yes. Anything below 1× total counts as YES for this mode.
Where do I see ½×, 4×, and so on?
Only in the feedback modal after you answer, not on the YES/NO buttons.
Does it use abilities like Levitate or Flash Fire?
No. It uses typings and move types only, matching the standard chart.
How is this different from Type Matchups mode?
Type Matchups trains exact multipliers. Type Resistances trains a fast resist read first, with full numbers in feedback.
